ORANGE COUNTY SIGN PAINTING WORKSHOPS:
2 DAY WORKSHOP

For the absolute beginner or anyone interested in exploring the craft of sign painting!
This class has been specifically created to walk students through the general process of creating a hand painted sign from scratch.
Students will paint their own sign using a provided design by the instructor and will learn about the tools necessary to complete the project.
No drawing is required for this class, which allows for more time on the brush.
All materials provided.
7 hours each day including lunch (not provided).
3-Day Hand Letter Workshop
3 DAY WORKSHOP

3 full days of hands on sign painting with expert guidance by Smart Alex and a special guest.
Day 1: Learn the fundamentals of lettering, how to scale your letters, letter spacing, and the rules to layout.
Day 2: Learn the materials and process for prepping/ painting signs. Begin drawing full size layouts for class assignment.
Practice basic brustrokes w/ 1shot lettering enamel.
Day 3: Paint sign and learn the tricks of the trade!

Meets Every Tuesday for 8 Weeks

8 classes once a week, every Tuesday 8am- 4pm!
Learn the basics of the brush, the rules to lettering & layout, multiple alphabets, effects like convex/beveled letters, blending, faux marble, and much more.
Students will build their skills each week and will complete the course with their own custom hand painted sign using all the skills acquired.
Some homework will be assigned throughout the week,
all materials will be provided for the class.
45 min lunch break, fridge available.
Water Gilding Workshop
1 DAY WORKSHOP

Learn the proper way to water gild with genuine gold leaf. Students will participate in creating a two-toned water-gilded sign using traditional methods by hand.
All materials will be supplied by the instructors for class use.
Bring a notebook, pen and PACK YOUR OWN LUNCH! Workshop Address will be sent via email upon registration, located in Huntington Beach. Limited spots available
